  The Yu Strings  
The Yu Strings is a group of professional musicians offering music for weddings, receptions, private parties and other special events in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and surrounding areas. The Yu Strings is famous for its refined sound and beautiful tone.

Our repertoire spans from Classical, popular, Jazz, Holiday music, Christian music etc.
  Suhnah Yu (Music Director)  
Suhnah Yu received her Bachelor of Music in Violin performance at Seoul National University in her native country, Korea. She also received her Masters and Doctorate of Musical Arts degrees at University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where she studied with an internationally reknowned violinist Dr. Piotr Milewski.

Ms. Yu is an active performer in both chamber ensemble and orchestra. She was a formal member of iUVENIS and Collegia Musica Seoul Chamber in Seoul, and Queen City Virtuosi in Cincinnati. She was also invited to Verbier Music Orchestra Festival in Switzerland with a full scholarship as a representative of Korea.

Suhnah Yu was a formal faculty of the Center for the Arts in Wyoming, Northern Kentucky University Preparatory department, and Cincinnati Music Academy. She is currently a music director of Harmonia Chamber Players and a beginning string conductor at Dulwich college school.
  Yera Lee (Violin/Manager)  
At Kyunghee University in Seoul, Korea, Yera Lee received her Bachelor of Music in Violin performance. Ms. Lee received her Masters of Music and Doctorate degrees at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she was studying with a great pedagogue Dr. Wonbin Yim. She also plays the viola, whose instrument is a cognate in her Doctorate degree.

Ms. Lee shows her enthusiasm in different venues including playing and conducting. As an active performer, she was a formal concertmaster of Gwa Choen Symphony Orchestra, and a principal violinist in Lebanon Orchestra and Xavier University Orchestra. She was also a formal member of Ohio Valley Orchestra and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. She conducted SeoHyun Elementary and Middle School Orchestras in Korea.

She is currently teaching violin/viola to students in all ages.
  Kuan-chang Tu (Violin)  
Violinist Kuan-chang Tu, a native of Tainan, Taiwan, is presently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at Univesity of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he has served as graduate assistant. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Violin performance at Taipei National University of the Arts, where he presented numerous recitals and appeared as soloist with the TNUA String Orchestra. An avid ensemble musician, Mr. Tu has appeared as a recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestra musician throughout in Taiwan and the US.

Kuan-chang Tu is currently a member of the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and Richmond Symphony Orchestra.
  Doyeon Kim (Cello/Admin)  
Originally from South Korea, DoYeon Kim completed a Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance at the University of Cincinnati in the studio of Yehuda Hanani, a Master of Music degree Cello performance at the Eastman School of Music in the studio of Alan Harris and is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati.

Kim began playing cello at the age of ten. Kim has won first prize in the Adrian Boyer Competition, the 34th Music Education Journal Competition, the Grand Rapids Federation of Musicians Madura Scholarship Competition, and second prize in the Chamber Music Competition at the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music. Kim has performed as a soloist with the Baroque Chamber Ensemble at Close Encounters with Music and the Bayview Music Festival Orchestra, and she has presented several solo and chamber recitals in the United States and South Korea.
  Sera Choen (Cello)  
Sera Choen got her Bachelors of Music in Korea, her native country, and achieved Masters of Music and Artist Diploma at Univesity of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she is currently pursuing her Doctoral of Musical Arts.

As an active performer, she has been appearing in various orchestras such as Chicago Civic Orchestra, Indiana Richmond Symphony, and New World Symphony. She was also a judge of Cello section audition at Southwest Regional Orchestra.

Sera Choen is a currently a member of Clemont Orchestra and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
  Jason A. Orsen (Trumpet)  
Jason Orsen, a native of Binghamton, NY, is currently a Doctoral of Musical Arts Candidate at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Mr. Orsen has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic and the Canton Symphony Orchestra during his academic tenure. In addition to other performance engagements, Mr. Orsen remains an active free-lancer in the Cincinnati area.

In his spare time Jason Orsen enjoys fishing, staying active in the gym and relaxing with friends.
  Hee Jin Yoon (Harp)  
Hee Jin Yoon graduated in 2006 with a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. She also received a Performer Diploma from Indiana University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Seoul National University.

Ms. Yoon was among the 12 finalists of the American Harp Society Anne Adams Harp Competition. She is a very active as a soloist, orchestra and chamber musician. As an orchestra soloist, she has performed with Lancaster Festival Orchestra and Korean Symphony Orchestra. She is principal harpist of Lancaster Festival Orchestra and has played in the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Carmel Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.

Currently, Hee Jin Yoon is pursuing her Doctoral Degree from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music.
